D.I.Y. Advent Cards – a little Craft Project

I have been meaning to introduce these for a while.  Along with Fiona from Fiona Kate (and a little help from this gal) I have produced a set of fun, crafty Advent Cards, perfect for counting down to Christmas in your own creative way.  The cards are lovely and smooth, so they are perfect for sticking with washi tape.  They could be coloured in with markers, doodled upon, collaged or stamped.  They are entirely in your hands.  They are also printed as a postcard on the back, perfect for sending.  You can even use them as birthday cards!

So, I will be having a blog countdown to Christmas, and I promise lovely readers, to be here every day with a new technique to decorate the cards.  Now that is a commitment.  If you would like to join in, you can find the cards here in the Shop.  There will also be a  little shop sale this weekend, just enter the code BLACKFRIDAY at the checkout for 15% off your order, before shipping.

Have a lovely day tomorrow.  It is Mr Viking’s birthday.  So we are going to make him breakfast, give him some lovely smelling presents (hint) and have dinner at our local Italian ‘birthday’ restaurant. Yay.

Spoonful zine – a little ad.

Spoonful

This is Spoonful, a super little zine, written and published by the lovely Anthea, who I just happened to meet at Magnolia Square.  Anthea has previously written for Dumbo Feather among others and  I think she truly has one of the most fantastic eyes in the business for whimsy.  She has a real talent for finding the sweet and charming in this busy, crazy world, and you can find her special finds in her lovely self published zine.  I have to say we had a rolicking time discussing lovely, pretty things, we shared many a favorite Etsy seller and blog.  Imagine my delight when Anthea delivered a hot off the press copy of Issue 3 to my stall in person!  I have a little ad in the latest issue.  You can also find lots of lovely Galleon inspired objects, a fabulous craft project by Melissa of Tiny Happy (blog swoon) as well as the most humbling of writings from many talented writers.  It is a very nice read.

Here are a couple of random photos.  I made this sweet card for a new baby boy.  I used three stamps and some pretty glitter gel pens that I picked up at the Papercrafts Show a couple of weeks back.  There was a few nerves before these lovely girls danced up a storm last Friday night.  They were fabulous.  Miss Viking is the one on the right looking out to sea.  Finally, Little Miss Viking is quite adept at building.  Architect maybe?

Christmases are in the shop.

IMG_2503Hello lovely friends.  It is so nice to be back.  I have had such a busy time with a couple of markets and lots of custom orders.  Magnolia square was very awesome, thank you to all of the lovely people who came to say hello.  Yesterday I took a whole day to myself.  There was a baby present to buy for this lovely friend who welcomed a little boy named Mads, a dining table to clear of paper scraps and lots of tidying to do.  The house is totally undone and I’ve a long way to go, but I will certainly make it.  And Christmas is coming.  Love it.  So looking forward to finding my box of glass birds, a collection I try to add to each year.  They have never had their photo’s taken so I might surprise them this year!  I have popped a couple of things in the shop for Christmas, with more coming later in the week.  Are you getting ready for the silly season?

Magnolia Square.

see us at Mag Square

Yippee.  Magnolia Square is almost upon us.  Paperklip will be there.  If you like shopping, lovely things, nice stallholders and Christmas you should try and come along to this great event.  Just one week away (can you imagine what the house looks like as I prepare?).  Hope to see you there.
