The day the Thrift Gods shone down.

I know.  I could hardly speak either.  The gold twinkled at me.  I went forth.  The label read Fleur Wood.  I tucked it gently under my arm and headed for the counter.  The salt container.  Craft Group thought  it would be great for catching paper scraps and I agree.  And the port wine glasses.  Perfect for the once a year Boxing Day herring and scnapps lunch we like to have.  The picture.  The Viking just shook his head at it.  I just loved it.  So it will stay.

Thank you thrift gods.

Julia’s back.

spoolbedillustration

Hi there!  I could not resist.  Here is a beautiful illustration of a Spool Bed by Julia.  Julia Rothman.  You know how much I love her work because I keep putting her illustrations up here for you to see.  And love.  I borrowed this image from Design Sponge, who have a whole article devoted to these lovely beds over here.  In case you were interested.  And I am because we are looking for a new bed (or an old bed) to replace our old bed.  Make sense?  I think these beds are lovely.  Just want to load them up with vintage quilts and jump on in.

I have posted other people’s images today because if you lived here in Sydney you would know that it has been pouring for a few days now.  No light = no photo opportunities.  I hope to share what the Thrift Gods shined on me last Friday when the sun comes out again.

So Pretty.

Sometimes a really pretty one comes along and I just have to share.

Yay!  In the shop.  You buy one here if you like.  Isn’t she pretty?

Sleeping.

Map Garland

Map Garland

Hello.  Good morning. I’ve been sleeping a little.  Thank you to everyone who came to say ‘hello’ at Finders.  It was so much fun.  There were so many super stallholders.  My favourites – Naomi Murrell, Paper Boat Press, White Square and Little Gonzales to name a few.  I got completely toungue-tied while talking to Naomi and acted just like a groupie.  I came away with 4 lovely cards.  I loved all of Paper Boat Presses’ things.  I bought a sweet little birdcage brooch from White Square.  I am still coveting Little Gonzales’ David Bowie print (the one of his hair).  I just have to find a spare spot on the wall.  And talk The Viking around.

Anyway, these map garlands sold out in no time so I’m putting one up in the Shop.  Have a great day.

Finders Keepers for me.

I am making like a mad woman.  Today it’s tape bunting.  And dot cards.  I am so excited about exhibiting at Finders Keepers for the first time.  Seriously happy.  Rainbow happy.  I am sharing with this cool gal.  This other cool gal is going to be there too.  Go Craft Group.
